World Book Day Writes of Passage

Have you signed up for the Reading Ahead Challenge? We’ve already looked at books, audiobooks and graphic novels that can help improve your mood, but we couldn’t overlook one of our favourite celebrations: World Book Day! Back in 2014, the folks behind WBD asked young adults to name the books that made an impact on their lives. Cleverly renamed “Writes of Passage”, these books might change the way you think forever. We’re happy to report that we have most of the books on the final list in our libraries- we’ve checked the catalogue so YOU can check them out right away! Remember that the Reading Ahead Challenge isn’t limited to books alone: you won’t win prizes for watching DVDs, but audiobooks and graphic novels count towards your target.

World Book Day is on Thursday 3rd March- next week!- and you can find out about the books on offer here. If you or your children are attending a WBD event, the Guardian has some great ideas for costumes!
