Oscar Wilde

16th October 1854-30th November 1900

Oscar Wilde’s plays- Lady Windermere’s Fan, The Importance of Being Earnest, A Woman of No Importance and An Ideal Husband- are available in the BOOK ZONE 822.8 WIL

The 1997 biopic Wilde stars Stephen Fry (Blackadder, QI) as Oscar Wilde and Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) as his lover Lord Alfred “Bosie” Douglas. Find it in the DVD LOBBY.

The Film4 adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray, called simply Dorian Gray, is available from the BOOK ZONE 823.8 WIL. Dorian is played by Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader) and Colin Firth (Bridget Jones’s Baby) plays his friend Lord Henry Wotton.
